So I started a new diet...

...and it's going really well. I haven't been grumpy, tired or hungry. Granted, this is only day two but it said that if you ate a lot of sugar (ie: carbs) before starting this diet you would possibly struggle the first couple of days until you were acclimated. So far, so good. I've also walked every day so far this week and plan to continue the trend. I've had much success with Weight Watchers (I lost 52 pounds!) but I am really sick of counting points and don't want to do the Core plan because I love carbohydrates. So, I found this diet online and it was recommended as one of only four that you can purchase online that actually work. I thought "what the heck" I've wasted more than $40 before on other stupid things and it comes with a money back guarantee. I'll give it a try. So far, so good. I will keep you posted and if it really does what it claims...I'll even post the link.

Paisley Penguin made me do it!

Tag You're It

Found this meme at one of my favorite blogs.

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer."

1) What was I doing 10 years ago? 10 years ago, hubby and I had just found our first apartment and put down the deposit. We didn't move in until the 10th of July. I was still in college and working part time for a local drug store chain, he had just started a job with a Chevrolet dealership. We were just beginning our lives together. It was wonderful, we were twitterpated. ;)

2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today? Laundry, Head to the grocery store, Get ready for my PL show tonight, Make dinner for the family, Tidy the house.

3) Snacks I enjoy: Raw-crisp veggies in ranch, Fresh strawberries and vanilla yogurt, Coffee, and croissants.

4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Obviously live debt free, pay off everything for both sets of parents, set my son up for anything he would ever need, donate much of my time to Special Olympics.

5) Places I have lived: Moses Lake, WA - Seattle, WA (Ballard) - Everett, WA (for 3 weeks) - Edmonds, WA - Shoreline, WA

Mildly Entertaining Musings, Seadolphyn, So, I only tagged 2 people, sue me!

Tag your it! Everyone feel free to play and leave me a comment if you did!

Random thoughts...

I have a lot in my head today and I wanted to get it out!

  • I'm going to see the Sex & the City movie tonight with my MIL and one of her co-workers. It promises to be fun as we all really enjoyed the series and none of us have seen the movie. This is my birthday present from MIL so we are also going out for appetizers and drinks before. :)
  • I paid all our bills for the month today which means that the next two paychecks are basically free money that we get to put toward savings and debt! Whoo HOO!!!
  • I finally printed photos from Christmas until current and picked them up from the processor today so I can start power sorting and preparing for scrapbooking. I need to see if my neighbor wants to have a scrapbook day in her "workshop" :) Oh how fun to have an entire room devoted to one's hobby.
  • I cleaned out my linen closet and only put back what we actually use. You would not believe how tidy it looks. I personally was impressed. One space down in the total home makeover.
  • Consequently, my yard sale pile is growing. It's driving me crazy as it is taking over our "office"/ dog's room and looks really untidy. I can't wait until the actual day to get it all out of the house knowing it will never come back. hehe. (read: evil laugh)
  • My parents are visiting this weekend on the premise that my mom has doctor's appointments. They are actually scoping out the area in hopes of finding a house that they can make an offer on and move closer to me! YAY! This has been 10 years in the making and I am stoked!
  • Saturday, I'm attending a baby shower. I have the gift already and hope it will be fun and not too stuffy.
  • Sunday is Father's day of course. I found the perfect card for my Dad. It's the perfect mix of sentiment and humor and I was very happy to have taken the last one. :) Also, since they are here this weekend we've invited them to come over Sunday morning for breakfast. Then for dinner we are hosting my MIL and FIL for dinner. A lovely meal of BBQ steak, potato salad, baked beands and spiced apples a'la mode.
  • I just spent an hour on the phone with my good friend from junior high/high school. It's always nice to talk to her.

I feel much better now that I have a clear head. Thanks!

Ready.......Set.......CLEAN!

I've decided to significantly simplify my life and household. This mindset has been evolving over the past few months, but this week I decided that I just plainly have too much stuff!

I'd already decided to have a yard sale with my neighbors and some friends, so the early planning stages were already in place. So starting today I'm taking it to the next level. I decided I'm going to completely comb through every item in every room, closet or cabinet in our home and rid myself/ourselves of anything that we don't use, don't need or don't want. I'm going to utilize the suggestion of Trent at www.thesimpledollar.com and physically touch every item and decide if it is important to me/us or if I would be okay if it were gone. I've already mentioned to both my mother and mother-in-law that I'm not going to be able to keep things around anymore just because so-and-so bought it for me. I told them that if there was anything they had given me that they for sure didn't want me yard-saling to let me know and if it ends up on my list I will make sure they get it back.

This time, I'm serious! I'm going to get back to basics and reclaim my space!

I'll let you know how it progresses.

Starting off...

Wow, I finally did it. I decided today to start blogging my life. After talking it up with a friend while walking this morning. I decided that today is as good as any day. That and the fact that my hubby took our son for the afternoon, leaving me the oh so precious "time alone", here I am. Enjoy!

I went to Fred Meyer today to get a new seat for my bicycle so that I can ride it without my tooshie hurting. I really want to get into the habit of riding at least a couple of miles each day and I know I won't do it if my butt is hurting every time I sit on the seat. So, anyway...I got a really great seat and it was on sale! Yay! While walking through the store though, I saw this woman who looked as if she were completely irritated. You know the look I'm talking about, the one that says "don't even look at me or I will eat you for lunch!" She had that look. I smiled at her to hopefully brighten her day and she smiled back but the weirdest thing was her face did not change! You could tell she was smiling because of her eyes, but her face stayed pretty much the same as before. I thought this to be extremely weird and it made me wonder...why?

After Fred Meyer, I came home and put my stuff away and am just about to put the new cushie seat on my bike and head out for a ride before the kiddo and hubby get back.

Wish me luck with getting the new seat on and the old one off.
